There are many values that GLENI has conveyed over the years. First of all, the exaltation of your uniqueness.
By giving advice to our clients, we have always encouraged the often overlooked aspect of buying: the inner one. How does that bag make you feel? Does it give you joy? Does it fit with your personal style? Does it make you feel beautiful? And, above all, do you feel like yourself wearing it? If the answers to these questions are a resounding yes, nothing else matters. Trends and fashion fade into the background: wearing a GLENI bag means defining your style in a special way, emphasizing your uniqueness.
That’s why you should always give you the luxury of being yourself.
But what happens if, by looking at our bags, nothing makes you feel unique? Maybe a model caught your eye, but the yellow color doesn’t suit you. Or you prefer the sumptuousness of crocodile to the elegance of ostrich. Or maybe you love both the model and the color, but you would prefer a shiny finish. No problem: there’s no need to run. We have some pretty spectacular news: the lab.
Many big brands of the world fashion panorama decided to give up on exotic leather for the creation of their new collections, motivating their choice with moral and ethic reasons. In their opinion, in fact, there are not enough controls on the “controlled trade” of these leathers; in addition, the use of exotic leathers for the realization of the new fashion collections is getting more and more controversies on the part of convinced animal activists who boycott the catwalks with demonstrations in defence of animal rights.
If we focus on these first considerations, we would all agree that the only choice is to say no to the use exotic leathers in order to avoid the killing of many animals only for profit and, perhaps, even for vanity of those who periodically buy this kind of article.
But is giving up exotic leather a sign of eco sustainability and protection towards these endangered animals?
On some level, the first week after the holidays is the saddest and happiest period of the year at the same time. It forces you to think about the past year, come to terms with everything you’ve achieved or not and organize the new year. It’s that time of the year when you can finally open your new planner and think about your resolutions. It’s that moment of the year when anything that comes to your mind is not impossible: get back in shape, organised that travel that you wanted to do for so long, finally take courage and start the work of your dreams.
At Gleni we decided to start the year, taking some time for ourselves and closing from December 22nd until January 2nd. We decided to close the boutique and relax surrounded by the affection of friends and relatives, to start the new year to the fullest.
San Benedetto del Tronto is still immersed in the summer weather, yet the rest of the world slowly lets go to the arrival of fall and its colors.
Like every year, the begining of Fashion Week all over the world marks the passage into the new season, and the inevitable “change of wardrobe”: and this is the time to say goodbye to light dresses and saturated colors, leaving room for fall garments of warm and enveloping undertones.
What are the colors of this Fall/ Winter 2017 and how have we interpreted them for GLENI Boutique?
With tables still laid out for the holidays and glasses still filled with bollicine Made in Italy, it is already high time to take stock of the past year and define the good intentions for the year to come.
2016, for the GLENI family was a year of great change.
First, we permanently stopped the production of bags for third parties with private labels; in this way, we sought to improve and increase the prestige of the GLENI brand.
Next, we discontinued production of handmade shoes for men, focusing on improving the collection of women’s handbags. For those interested, there are still a select few (in limited sizes) available in our online boutique.
Always, in Italy, the friendly moments of celebration and the joy of special occasions are bound and embellished by the bright of colors and brilliance of sparkling wines; the elegant aromas and the liveliness of the foam, enhance the flavors of each paired dish: we may designate wines throughout the meal, as they marry extremely well with cuisine of both land and sea, moving on to cheeses and desserts, being always careful in choosing the most suitable type.
Italy, along with France and Germany, is one of the world’s leading producers of sparkling wine, with numbers nearing around 300 million bottles produced annually.
Despite the legend saying that the grandfather of quality sparkling wine is Champagne, invented in France by Dom Pierre Pérignon in the seventeenth century, historical records reveal a different reality: in fact, already from the fourteenth century, in the work of the Benedictine Don Francesco Scacchi di Fabriano, “De salubri potu dissertatio“, it speaks of sparkling wine, anticipating what would then be put in place by the French.
At any rate, the Italian territory boasts products of the highest quality, thanks to the combination of soils and microclimates, the generosity of nature combined with the wisdom and experience of the industry. Continue reading
There is the other face of Gleni in the new collection that slowly takes place in our windows. Just like the moon, also Gleni has another face, but unlike the most beloved of the star of our universe, we have decided to reveal it, and to do that we have created a new collection, distinct, waiting to be discovered.
We do not renounce the soft and sinuous shaped bags which so far have characterized our unique style, but now we wanted to put them together with bags of clean and minimal lines, made of geometric harmonies lit up by refined and classy hues. High quality bags, marked by the elegant and flawless finishes as those preceding. We could define it as two sisters who – just like different twins – show two sides of the same face, the face of Gleni who already you know and love.
New and most valuable are also the interiors, this time made entirely of soft leather in matching tones, precious material that replaces the still fascinating and precious fabric.
Fabric will not be missed in the new collection however, because for the new bags we decided to add an additional accessory: a small scarf from the simple and elegant line. Made in the classic colors that distinguish our brand and with our company logo, this scarf will be an extra detail, an added value or even better a small gift designed just for you. We have it tied to the main handle of the bag, but you can also remove it and fix it in any other place or use it alone: the choice is yours!
But now let’s talk about bags and see more closely how this new collection will be. Trapezoids, rectangles and accentuated corners… you will find many geometric shapes, some large others small. Messenger bags, backpacks, by shoulder or by hand, even the type of bag will suit all tastes, with models for every occasion, versatile and functional, equipped with removable straps and chains to attach and detach depending on the situation. “If nothing ever changed, there would be no butterflies”
Fortunately, everything changes and butterflies do exist.
Changes play a part in each of our daily lives and also Gleni has chosen to spread its wings and indulge in new life.
Inspired by butterflies and overwhelmed by the desire to spread our wings, we have decided to radically change the background color, going from a dark – albeit beautiful- burgundy to a brilliant white, a symbol of purity and hope for the future.
Lovers of red, however, need not despair: we decided to keep our historic color in the details of the new site – on menu borders and various buttons.

Even if we are a little late, we decided to make a brief summary of our 2015 and give you a preview of our ideas and our plans for 2016.
In March 2015, Gleni suffered a great loss. After a long battle with cancer, the founder and owner of Gleni passed away, leaving behind a great legacy and a great love for his dream.
Following this moment, we passed an even more complicated period, dictated by bureaucracy. Gleni had to change the company name, abandoning forever the title “Gleni of Arben Qoku” and becoming “Gleni Srl”.
We, however, did not get discouraged by the events and in August, we renovated our boutique in San Benedetto del Tronto (in Via Risorgimento n ° 43 for those interested!), the operational base of all our ideas.
We changed the color, the layout and, in a sense, also the basic concept.
More spacious and “open” to the public, now Gleni Boutique, in San Benedetto del Tronto, has decidedly a look far more luxurious and refined, with sophisticated and elegant details, fit for welcoming princes and princesses of the world.
